2019 Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition

The original Volkswagen Beetle, an iconic model that is easily one of the most recognized on the road, ceased production in 2003. Some will remember the New Beetle, the one with a compact, even more rounded shape, was introduced in 1998. Things are often a bit fuzzy in this regard because while the Beetle was technically continued non-stop, it wasn’t available in all markets. The iconic Type 1 Beetle was only sold in the U.S. from 1950 to 1979. From our perspective, it was discontinued for 20 years, even though most sources will suggest the model went from one generation to the next with no hitches. Clearly, we’re in for another disappearance of this whimsical hatchback as VW just announced the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition. Read the rest of this entry »

Volkswagen 3D printing parts in 2019

Though Next year, VW will 3D print select parts we’ve known about 3D printing for years now, many of us think of the process in terms of what could be, rather than something that is present in our lives now. The reason for this, aside from the fact that the printers are too expensive for most consumers, is that 3D printing is far from a quick process. Volkswagen clearly sees its potential, however, as the automaker has worked together with HP and GNK Powder Metallurgy to create the HP Metal Jet process. It was recently announced that VW will begin 3D printing parts in 2019. Read the rest of this entry »

How to get brighter lights in your Volkswagen

There are many things we take for granted in our cars, and the headlights are just one of them. Basically, we live by the concept that if it isn’t broken, we don’t need to fix it. If you wish you could get them to be just a bit brighter in your Volkswagen, we have some tips for you. Read the rest of this entry »

How many custom colors does the 2019 VW Golf R have?

It’s not that everyone wants a flashy paint color for their vehicle. In fact, many don’t. There’s a reason that black, white and gray prove to consistently be among the most popular color options. These humble colors also happen to be helpful when it comes time to sell your vehicle. There are some cars, though, you just can’t see yourself parting with unless they are on their way to the salvage yard. For performance-minded shoppers, the 2019 Volkswagen Golf R very likely falls into this category. This is why the Volkswagen Spektrum Program has launched for the model. If you plan on keeping it until it’s no longer road-worthy, why not customize it a bit? This new program makes that possible with factory-made custom colors. So how many colors are there now available for the 2019 VW Golf R? Read the rest of this entry »

Volkswagen Electrify America Campaign

Right now electric vehicles seem to be a goal for the future rather than a current reality for most shoppers. The reputation is still that these vehicles aren’t as powerful as their gasoline counterparts or don’t have as long of a range. An especially apparent issue when charging times are much longer than filling up at the pump. Speaking of the pump, charging stations aren’t as aggressively developed as gas stations. Volkswagen recognizes that these impressions are prevalent in the minds of American motorists, which is why the automaker recently launched a new ad as part of its Electrify America campaign. Automotive technology has made impressive progress and VW seeks to enlighten shoppers on how much has been developed in recent years. Read the rest of this entry »
