2018 Volkswagen Tiguan vs 2018 Nissan Rogue
Just when you thought the Tiguan couldn’t get any better, Volkswagen went and gave it a brand-new update that totally changed the way we see compact crossovers! If you are making the transition from sedan to SUV and are on the hunt for a vehicle that will give you a seamless transmission, the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan is your best bet thanks to an impressive fuel economy, spacious interior, and feature-rich cabin that is filled to the brim with intuitive convenience extras. However, to really give you an idea of how great the new Tiguan is, we think it’s best to compare it to another similar vehicle. For this comparison, we’ve chosen the 2018 Nissan Rogue.
If this was last year, we would probably say that the Nissan Rogue and the Volkswagen Tiguan were pretty fairly matched. However, 2018 is really becoming the year of the Tiguan thanks to its array of updates and outstanding reviews the vehicle is getting. Take a look as we compare them below!

First things first, if you are looking for a compact crossover that really shines in the passenger capacity department, the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan has the 2018 Nissan beat. That’s because the Tiguan’s update for 2018 gave it an additional row, taking the passenger capacity from a maximum of 5 to a maximum of 7. This beats out the Rogue, who only has a maximum passenger capacity of 5 for this year. Don’t need that extra space? Then flatten that third row to make even more cargo room in the Tiguan.
Another way the new Tiguan comes out on top is with its AWD system. The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan comes available with Volkswagen’s tried-and-true 4MOTION AWD system that comes with Driving Mode Selector. This allows you to choose between four modes (On-Road, Off-Road, Snow, and Off-Road Custom) to tailor your drive to whatever the weather is. The new Nissan Rogue’s optional Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system does not give you that opportunity.
The 2018 Tiguan is certainly a crossover that can bring the sportiness back to your daily commute.
