Gah, car dealerships. I never know if they are being honest with me or not.I had an unfortunate incident in which my 2002 Jetta 1.8T was totaled. GOD DAMN I LOVED THAT CAR!!!!! My bf and I decided to go car shopping this past Labor Day, since it seemed like there were a lot of sales happening and VW... had 0% financing. Now generally I take care of this stuff myself, but my bf is a wheeler dealer and he was looking up prices, etc., and ended up calling Chris at New Century. I had originally wanted to go to Santa Monica VW, but my bf said there was a better deal at New Century. Chris said they had a blue Golf TDI available, so we drove out there to test drive. Overall we were in the dealership for about 4.5 hours, including a lunch break. I ended up purchasing a 2013 GTI, which I've been very happy with. Chris was very accommodating and good to work with. The issues I had were: even though I have excellent credit, for some reason I "didn't qualify" for 0% financing. I can't remember what they told me, but it sounded good at the time...now I'm not so sure. I have since gone another route with financing that got me as close to 0% as possible. Then, by the time I had decided that I wanted to buy a white TDI Golf (I don't even know what happened to the blue one), the one that was available earlier in the day was gone. I ended up going with the more expensive GTI. New Century didn't seem to have very much stock in house at all, but maybe that's the case everywhere based on the time of year. I tend to believe that they were honest with me, because at one point we did walk out of the dealership - I think they had done all they could as far as pricing goes...but I can never be sure. We were looking at a 2012 GTI that only had 125 miles on it, and when they wouldn't go any lower on the price, the explanation they gave made sense and rang true. I checked the "true market value" price for the GTI I ended up buying on edmunds.com, and it was exactly what I paid, so I feel fairly good about my purchase. I will still be taking my VW to VW Santa Monica for service, because it is close to my house, but I had a good, low stress buying experience at New Century. Show more

I've just bought a car here (VW Jetta TDI). We (my wife and I) dealt with two different salesmen. The first one was not very professional, and his knowledge about the product was really limited. Of course he treated us with courtesy, but you expect something else when spending more than $20,000.... After driving a couple of cars (none of them we really like), we looked at the numbers. As I said, we were not really convinced about the cars we tested (it was not what we were looking for),  and we wanted to think about it at home. However, the salesman started pushing too hard to close the deal. At one point I didn't know what to say to leave. It was annoying. Finally his boss (Armando) came into the office, and he found exactly what we wanted, and we closed the deal. They delivered the car the promised day and in great condition (it's a used car). Without the interaction with the first salesman, I would say they are a 4/5 stars dealers... Show more

I have had Vws for over 25 years. My Newest,  a 2011 jetta wagon. I took it there for my  services up to 30 thousand miles. Pedro is great in the service dept. Waiting for for car took over 2 hours both times. I think that is something they need to work on when they know the customer is waiting. I... recently went in to get my wipers replaced and  the nice guy got them for me and replaced them right on the spot. Show more

Fausto repurchased the car I bought here today. He made the experience a pleasure and Ronnie, the GSM and Mike in Finance were very pleasant and helpful as well. Also, last time I came in for service, it was to get my fuel line flushed... The gas station mixed gas and diesel..  Anyway, Jaime took g...reat care of me; Prompt service that made me feel welcome and cared for. Show more
