What is the standard 2016 Volkswagen Warranty?
2016 Volkswagen Warranty Coverage and Plans
It’s not something anyone likes to think about when purchasing a new car, but even the best laid plans can have flaws. It’s nice to know you’re covered and that your manufacturer stands by its product. Looking at the 2016 Volkswagen Warranty Coverage and Plans, it’s clear your favorite automaker won’t leave you high and dry should something go wrong.
What warranties does VW offer on new cars?
Although there are a variety of plans available to extend coverage on your new car, Volkswagen also offers an impressive standard warranty to ensure your vehicle will live up to your expectations. Every new Volkswagen model has a basic limited warranty* of 3 years/36,000 miles with roadside assistance, a powertrain warranty of 5 years/60,000 miles (10 years/100,000 miles for base trim Touareg) and corrosion perforation for 12 years/120,000 miles.
The basic warranty does not cover maintenance, but it may cover select parts. Full details can be provided by our friendly staff members should any questions arise. All warranties are based on whichever number comes first, years or mileage. Pars and genuine VW accessories also have a warranty depending on the product. Warranties can vary for these, but generally are covered for 12 months/12,000 miles when installed by an authorized dealer.
In addition to the basic warranty, both maintenance plans and protection plans are available to purchase. These can provide reassurance for customers who worry about the long-term costs of vehicle ownership. Maintenance pricing for 2016 is listed in this handy chart, and included in these plans are all scheduled maintenance needed for the time period, including oil changes, air filter replacement and more. A full list of services per mileage can be found in our maintenance menu. The Volkswagen Car* plan covers the first three years, while the Care Plus* plan extends it an additional two years.
What sort of extended warranties does Volkswagen offer?
Depending on your vehicle needs, Volkswagen offers a variety of other plans from service coverage up to 100,000 miles to lease-specific coverage.
As you can see, no matter what your needs Volkswagen has a way to keep you covered. We hope you found this post helpful and will come back to the New Century Volkswagen Blog for more tips on all things VW.
